Question/Comment:

My buspirone 10 mg once a day works for me. However I had to have gallbladder surgery and I was told to take my medication like normal. I took my b/p meds along with my buspirone. Bad mistake, I almost did not wake up. So, please if any one has to have surgery, don't take the busiprone at this time. I learned the hard way.

Answer/Reply:

Hi
I have been taking Buspirone 10mg. & 400 mg. Buproprion for 9 yrs. without problems. Here is the caution for the two together.

"Using Bupropion HCl and Buspirone together may increase the risk of excessive sedation. As a result, Bupropion HCl and Buspirone treatment/dose should be regularly reviewed when these drugs are used together - particularly in elderly or weakened patients."

Remember each person is different & will have their own reaction to medicines . Good luck to you both.

iGuard Answer/Reply:

The iGuard Drug Interaction System did not list an interaction between Buspirone and Bupropion. However, both of these medications can cause drowsiness. Your wife may notice an increase in sedation or drowsiness - which usually lessens or goes away with continued use of the medicine. If your wife notices any concerning side effects, she should report them to her doctor.

Question/Comment:

I was recently given this medication for anxiety. I was told that it wouldnt work for at least 4 weeks. I have been on it for two days, and my problems are gone. I have side effects, dizziness, lightheadedness, I perfer these than what I had been experiences. This is my first anxiety med. I had been treated for depression, incorrectly, but the psychiatrist never listened. I wentto ER 4times. My primary care listened and gave me this. I can function again. I cant believe it.
