Question/Comment:
I took one tsp of Delsym around 9:30pm 3/4/09. Did nothing for the cough I was experiencing and since I wanted to go to bed, I emptied the bottle, which was not even a dose. Stopped the cough and I went sound asleep. Woke at 2:15am, majorly dizzy and nauseaus. Passed out on the floor and my husband called 911 as he could not arouse me. My resperations were minimal, BP was low, as was heart rate. Threw up in the ambulance and felt wonderful. Got checked out at the hospital for heart related problems, which showed nothing. I do feel my complications of nausea and dizziness were due to the 2nd dose of Delsym which was the end of the bottle and probably more potent than earlier doses as I do not remember shaking it every time. Major allergic reaction symptoms. No heart ailments have been found after further testing. The bottle says to take 2 tsp. but I would for sure take only one and see if that stops your coughing before taking a 2nd dose. BE SURE to shake the bottle and check when it has expired. Contact the supplier to report any wierd side effects. Can't wait to see what this ER trip and tests are going to co$t.

Question/Comment:
i really would love to take nyquil, dayquil, tylenol cold & sinus, cough supressants or expectorants, or any other cold medicine that actualy works, but when i was in mayo clinic they told me not to because of a possible risk for seratonin syndrome, which doesnt sound fun. does anyone know of any substitute cold medications that actually work?? ive had nothing but zicam, vitamin c, and lozenges for three years. thanks!
